Philippine Airlines History
Philippine Airlines was founded on 15th March 1941 by Andres Soriano, one of the top businessmen of that era. In the very next month, first flight took off the ground from Makati to Baguio, taking Filipino businessmen in a five-seater, twin-engine Beech Model 18. Helping in the growth of the airlines, the government kept on investing in PAL. With years passing by, the airline started serving many routes across the globe, which included Cebu, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Manila, San Francisco and many more. Philippine Airlines began its services to Rome and Madrid in 1947, becoming the first Southeast Asian airline to reach Europe. The airline started www.philippineairlines.com in 2008 to enable passengers to book their seats online. Last year, PAL became the proud owner of its fourth Boeing B777-300ER in November 2012. Moreover, the airline made history by signing the biggest ever aircraft deal, which was confirming the order of 54 Airbus jets. With its passenger centric approach, professional services and low cost flights, the airline continues to provide best-in-class in-flight experience.
