About Uzbekistan Airways
The Uzbekistan Airways National Airline is the flag carrier of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It meets the demands of both the national economy as well as for air transportation services which includes cargo, passenger and special aviation tasks.
On 28 January 1992 the President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov established Uzbekistan Airways along with a state administrative body for civil aviation. This body develops, coordinates and implements the air transportation policies on the territory of Uzbekistan.
There are a few principal functions of the company. These include providing high quality services on local and international flights along with research and introduction of new developments and technologies in aviation.
Uzbek Airways has a reputation of a corporate. It comprises of varied number of legal entities which combine to form its structural units. Additionally Uzbek Airways operates on the principles of cost accounting, self-financing and self-reevaluation. All the assets of the company, working capital, individual, consolidated balance and a range of other accounts can be seen in the banks of Uzbekistan as well as abroad.
The airline regularly flies to more than 40 cities of the world across Europe, Asia, US and Japan. It has wide network of representative offices situated in 25 countries.
The airlines has eleven airports all of which are international. The company employs more than 14,000 people.
Uzbekistan Airways’ business strategy caters to the implementation of the programme such that it leads to the development of the country’s civil aviation. It includes the modernisation and unification of aircraft and engines, reconstruction of its air traffic control systems, and many more facilities.
Uzbek Airways also plans to join hands with the SkyTeam International Airline Alliance.
