Lemon Tree Resort, Thimphu, Bhutan

firstly when we arrived at this hotel it was way too difficult to reach. the approach is via a jeep track trail through the forest with no markers or boards. on arrival the hotel looked more like a home stay. even with a family of 6 with 2 kids they gave us the smallest cramped up filthy rooms with poor lighting. most of the electrical points didn't work. there is no phone in the rooms or balcony. the windows were facing a wall with a dirty jacket hanging and a plastic commode seat lying outside. beds were the smallest I have ever seen. walls were filthy. and to think at lesser prices much better places are available at thimphu. place is just a no go for families at least. maybe trekkers and backpackers may like it. everything we disliked except the sweet staff which was very courteous and enterprising.

Hospitable staff. Good food though limited options. Rooms equipped with heaters. Rooms have even a system to heat the mattress. So, comfortable and cosy. The washroom n toilet needs to be improved. One will feel the chilling cold weather once you step inside the washroom. washroom floor was chilling cold. Luckily there's continuous supply of hot water. Lighting inside the rooms has to be improved tremendously

The resort is really far from the city, which makes it not so ideal for enjoying the city. we got a lower basement room, which was damp, dimly lit and insects for giving us company in the room. They tried to clean the room, but with such old and deteriorated infrastructure, nothing felt clean and decent. food was also very average. one could really avoid this place.

The hotel is on top of the hill and can get a good view of Thimphu from up there. We loved the location because of the chilled weather up on the hill. For people who love nature and want to spend some lonely time,then this would be the right one. Good food,very friendly staff and cleanliness adds up as well.Overall we had a good experience/
