BluSalzz Escapade Anant Rasa, Shitlakhet - Ranikhet

We had landed here on 28/12/2015 (for two Nite’s),The drive from Kathgodam was a little hectic 120 Kms approx.My wife & daughter had suffered mountain sickness (vomiting every now & then) due to the altitude which I understand is at approx 6600 feet. . The last 3 kms stretch of road was not layered with Tar,which is under the forest department.This made matters worse as the climb was steep to the resort.Name boards to the resort on the way from Kathgodam to The resort might just be 3 or 4, so pls keep Ur eyes open. On reaching the resort @ 10 am we were a little stunned with seeing on the reception & lobby, small but good.When we chkd in I understand that the property was booked to its capacity.The chk in was smooth & we were allotted room’s # 102 & 103,(we are family of 4).The front facing lawn was great, but due to the weather (chill) the grass at the lawn looked like it was not maintained. As we trek'd down the property for room’s # 102 & 103, which is situated in the upper tier of this beautiful estate, with a bang on view of the The Himalaya’s. Wooow! Mesmerizing… no words to describe it from the room/balcony. The room was spacious, with a study table, single seater chair’s,the bathroom was neat & clean.The room heater’s are a bit small for the room size & the very next day it was replaced with oil based heaters.The room’s that we had a balcony facing the Himalaya’s. The property, I understand was opened to guests some 18 months back & belongs to the Saha Family who are from Nainital.Managed by the Amritara private hideways, who manage a litlle over 10 properties in various parts of India.This is my first stay with this group.This beautiful estate which houses only 13 guest rooms has been done up quite impressively with room’s on three tiers of this estate.The trees in this estate have been saved in such way that it did not interfere much in the way the rooms have been built, thus maintaining the beauty of this property! I could understand, thus why the reception & lobby of this property was not that grand,well done anyways! There is only a one restaurant,also with a club room for indoor activities & library attached to it.The restaurant has that vintage look when you step in, We liked it.The breakfast (we are Veggie’s) was buffet with a normal good spread of continental,south/north combination.Pls do try their fresh butter cookies, which is just superb. I would like to thank the restaurant manager Mr.Mahesh, who took that extra care of pampering us with anything that we could desire for lunch/dinner, be it pizza’s or any other desi dish.This option offered to us & also the other guest’s was a good option for people who are fussy about regular food. The food was excellent & we enjoyed it to the hilt. We did have a bonfire on the 28th after much of dabbling with Front Office & House keeping, which they were insisting was payable.But some how all the other guest’s to did pressure them to have a complimentary bonfire for that nite.This is the only complaint that I have against the management, since it was a full house why not have it on complimentary basis.Being December when else would guest’s enjoy the beauty of the bonfire in this resort.I do hope they take note of this as a grievance & correct the same. This property also has trekking.bird watching & adventure activities like mountain climbing etc.Further, from the resort at half km or so there is a camp which is at altitude of 7000 Ft, giving also a magnificent view of the Himalaya’s.Up the hill is the famous temple of Nanda devi, which we trek’d at approx 2 km’s. Not much of people are aware of this beautiful property, since in a way it’s secluded from any town or village..Its good for people who would like to relax & chill out here from the maddening crowd.Zero pollution & the noise of occasional birds chirping in this estate is the best part which we thoroughly enjoyed. This property is not over hyped, unlike to Atali Ganga,Rishikesh which we had visited last year in 2015 & I had reviewed the same.The management has done a wonderful job in handpicking some of the best staff for this resort & that we have come across! I would also like to thank the front office manager Mr.Charu Pandey,Chef Neeraj,waiters Om Prakash & Hayath.The house keeping guy’s were on there toes for our beck & call. It was really nice to see that not even one of them turned to up to collect their tip, on the day of check out! Very warm & hospitable staff, pls do keep it up & as promised to you guy’s that yes we would be back…… Our next stop was @ Mohan’s Binsar & Corbett River Creek Spa for which you could read my review on the same.

It's an absolutely amazing, breathtaking property right up the hill... The location, the view, the food, the service, the staff, everything about this hotel is outstanding. Really if you love to go on holidays looking for beauty and peace, this is the place!! People who love the mall roads and the busy streets, I dnt think they'll like it here. The approach road (about 2km) is a bad, since it's on the top of the hill surrounded by the beautiful mountains and forest. Once u reach the property "re surely gonna love every part of it! They have lot of activities for all age groups like jungle trekking, night camps, bonfire, birdwatching, and lot of indoor games. It's a very new property, around 2 years old, very well designed and I would definitely recommend all the nature lovers to please visit the property once!! I'm definitely going back to this place!!!

Anant Rasa is a private Hideaway as the name suggest. It is located at Sitlakhet village on the way to Ranikhet from Almora. Last 4 kms to Anant Rasa does not have Pakka Sadak. While we were on our way, we had impression that maybe we have made mistake by booking this resort. But once we reached there, The Chef made amazing food. He also served us our Gujarati Khichdi on our request and the taste was just awesome. On our request he made local varities of food for us like Ragi ki roti and some special Dal. Believe me it was nothing less than excellent. The staff was very courteous. It is located in such a way that you can see sunset and sunrise from one point only. It is worth visiting this place. But to reach here, you must either have your own vehicle or hire a taxi.

it's a super amazing place for the people looking for off beat location. taking break from your digital gadgets since the connectivity is quite poor and wifi of the hotel is also down due to weather conditions ( which is good in a way). the last mile to reach the hotel is quite rough and it's better you reach in sunlight ( not later than 6 PM). comfort wise the hotel is good the construction is quite young and the staff is courteous. overall it was a memorable experience and I am already thinking of going back for longer stay this time. mesmerizing location
