pros to the hotel 1. perfect location2. amazing food 3. behavior of home service waiters was good. these pros gives only one star for the hotel. this is because, there are many serious concerns and cons of the hotel and hence,I would give zero star if possible. Reasons 1. There is no parking here. The parking written as elphinstone hotel parking is for staff and not for guests. Should be clearly mentioned. 2. The Room walls were infested with fungus and were unclean. 3. The washroom walls were dampy and infested with fungus. 4. The room and washroom were unclean. 5. There were house lizard stool in side the rooms 6. Bed bugs in bed. 7. The pillows were dirty and stained may be have never been cleaned. Only pillow covers were a bit reasonable in shape. 8. The phone no of the contact of the hotel given while booking. He never picks the call. 9. They are just in mood to sell their taxi and other paid service than to give basic amenities10. No basic washroom supplies like soap holder, soaps, pastes shampoo etc. nothing is supplied and if you ask manager says get it from market. 11. There were plenty of mosquitoes and on asking the person says these mosquitoes don't bite! We were so frustrated, we ran and bought own liquidator from market. 12. WiFi never connects inside the rooms due to weak signals13. Hot water only in morning so after the standard check in time of 12 pm you wait till next morning for hot water to come. 14. the manager is rude and never answers to anything and simply replies some idiotic phrases as if people stay in the hotel for free. Overall it's the worst hotelOne should never stay here will not even recommend

It was pleasure to stay in Elphinstone, rooms were clean, big with awesome view. hotel staff was courteous and really helpful. I would like to give my special thanks to Mr. Anuj Sah the hotel owner for all his efforts in making our stay a memorable one. Best place to stay n enjoy in Nainital 🙏lovely rooms with clean n hygienic washrooms, seating space in front of all rooms, above all hotel staffs including owner.

A wonderful hotel, on an amazing location. It has a garden on the ,ground floor, something no other hotel has on the mall road. The taxi goes till the base , then a climb of 20 steps is there. all rooms face the lake too. There seemed to be only 1 person doing the work, cooking and looking after the needs of the guests.

the rooms were big but had a damp smell. the bathroom had a non pleasant smell occassionally. there were molds at many places in the room. and availability of hot water was only limited to morning time for 4 hrs. otherwise the location is quite good. and the view was mesmerizing from the balcony..

The hotel is situated on Mall Road, right next to the lake, offering great views. It has a spacious lawn, ideal for spending quality time with friends and family. The staff is polite and helpful. The architecture showcases a British-style design, complemented by all modern amenities.

I was good the price was bit too high, you have to wait for hot water otherwise clean room and location wise this is on Tallital side but more shops and restaurants are on Mallital side so have to walk more if you stay in this hotel.

Average hotel with good location.Rooms are very old and the hotel is at steps high from main road.Stair cases are there but difficult for elderly people.Hotel is at the start of Mall road when you enter nainital from bus stand side.

Nice lake side view. old structure, maintained well. cleanliness is overlooked at times, it seems. have good rooms and suits. You can enjoy outside your rooms in large open space, garden.

Property is too old and their deluxe and super deluxe rooms comes with unhygienic washrooms. Only plus it is on mall road. Rooms consists of very old furniture. Not a good experience :(

I have stayed 3 nights from 30th to 1st Jan 2023. there was no heater in the room. Also no house keeping staff visited the room in my stay duration.

Property was ok, On negative side, no hot water kettle in the room and hot water timing was 7am to 1pm. You have to climb lots of stairs.
