We stayed in Non AC room - March, 2018 We had reached early at 9am. Even though the check-in time is 11am, as the room was ready we got it at 9 itself. The Good: - Clean rooms, spacious bathroom and a small patio - Beds were not soft but we had no problems with the sleep at night - Food is in buffet system. You can go to their dining hall or get it to your room. - About the quality of food, it was really good. Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast everything was very well prepared. All Veg items. - This is big property. Apart from a swimming pool, they have everything. Space to play cricket, badminton, some indoor games are also there. Swings are also present for small kids. - Hammocks are also tied here for a good post lunch chill. - The property is well known by people of Matheran so there is no issue finding it. - The property may be far from the market. But it is very near to Lords point, Rambaug point and Charlotte lake point. A beautiful sunset can be seen from Charlotte lake point. - You can get water, cold drinks from the reception. The Bad: - the TV constantly lost signal or gave blurry images.

An ideal property in all aspects... Hotel Girivihar is a completely value for money property with a massive area making itself a staycation spot as well! The hotel being the nearest to all tourist attractions makes the location perfect. The rooms, food, experience is something everyone from peaceful families to partying friends will cherish. I will definitely consider Hotel Girivihar for my future visits to Matheran.

The hotel is amazing and because of it our stay was very comfortable. They have buffet system and the food is delicious. They also get the buffet in your room on a request. The owner is friendly and so is the other staff. They have a huge garden and one can play badminton or Table Tennis or just enjoy the nature. It's around 10-15 mins walking from Matheran station and hence it's very calm.

good decent hotel. special thanks to the manager and her staff. In Matheran, u cannot expect luxurious hotels anywhere barring 1 or 2, so be prepared to set your expectations that way. they have unlimited veg buffets for both lunch n dinner at a very reasonable rates. overall it was a nice stay.

Best place to stay in Matheran for family.Room was very spacious,neat and clean. The food is especially good and hygienic.Owner of hotel Smita mam's nature is very good and ethical.Highly recommend. Safe, hygienic and quality food

Very nice place for whom like nature and antique feel of matheran. Very helpful and polite staff. Location is little at from market but that's why it's peaceful and cartoon. Rooms are spacious and clean.
