I booked the Tree-House 1 day before arrival. Reaching there was easy, Google map directions were correct. The last 1 km road was not tar road - only chips were laid and also since this portion is not lit, it may be a good idea to reach there by day. Inside the premise how ever they have tile road. The owner stays at the premises at the entrance where as rooms are available at the end of the road. Owner was very helpful. He also owns a friendly pit-bull. First thing I noticed was, there was no designated place for parking, I parked my bike underneath a treehouse itself. This got a little worse afterwards since it hailstormed the evening we reached there. Not a big problem though, owner arranged for my bike to be kept inside his personal parking space. The tree-house was about 20 feet above the ground on a mango tree. Mango-tree which was full of mangoes - you could actually reachout and pluck a few. The room was cosy with attached bathroom. TV was also available. The bed was comfortable as well. But, the room does get bit uncomfortably warm from 12P.M. to 4 P.M., but morning and evenings are really enjoyable. Service was prompt and the staff were very courteous. But, since there is no intercomm, you would have to call them on their mobile phone itself. Phone signal was pretty good on the tree-house, but a bit patchy when you are on ground. What you would really enjoy at the place was the evening and mornings. Evenings on the tree-house; it rains almost everyday, and you would get a really great view from the windows. Mornings are even more enjoyable on the premise. We rested on their hammock all morning in the gentle breeze. In front of all the houses they have a sizable ground with tree-swings, regular swings and a fire place. They were extending the property with swimming-pool and other amnesties. So, in a year or so the place would be even better. The other structures they had there were beautifully built in traditional Kerala style. Food was good, a little spicy but tasty all the same. I would recommend this place to anyone for a day's stay. Also, do keep in mind that Wayanad gets pretty hot during 12P.M. to 4 P.M. and very few have AC.

i was a bit sceptic about this resort after reading other reviews that location amd approach roads were poor, facilities were limited, food was not great, blah blah.. lemme tell you that the resort (of course with its limited activities) lived upto my expectations. 1. food was good. we opted for bindi masala, chef's suggestion and it was yummy with chapathis. The chef cooks as per your preferences. 2. room was spacious. we booked suite room but preferred the double deluxe on first floor as it had better air and views. 3. approach road was muddy. yes, if u want a better road, look out for hotels in the nearby Bathery town. if u want to be close to nature, be prepared to ride into the nature, not on roads. 4. places to see are scattered. this is the case for not just Hiliya, but for any other hotel/ resort. you have to travel a bit on either side to see places.. we visited Kuruva islands (not very exciting) on one side (24km one way if i remember correctly), the Banasura sagar dam the next day (35km away). you'll like speed boating in the dam (750 bucks for five persons). 5. lunch at the New Hotel(restaurant actually) in Kalpetta was yummy. Don't miss to dine here even if Kalpetta is not in your agenda. 6. coming to room service, our request for hot water and mosquitoe repellant refill weren't answered on day-1. a reminder for he same two items next day yielded prompt results :) 7. thumbs down for the tea that came with complementary break fast. thumbs up for the tea that we ordered in the evening with sandwich. i frankly don't know why this subtle difference should arise. 8. the claim that there was a stream nearby couldn't be justified. may be the stream went dry. if it so happened, we needn't be informed about that. 9. wahroom was spic and span except for random black dots on the wash basin. overall it was nice stay. i would recommend this to other travellers.

"Great experience in nature's lap" new review I visited Wayanad for a holiday with my wife and booked a tree house for 1 night at this hotel. It was a great experience as the surrounding are really natural as you are in a organic farm which is well maintained and clean. This was like staying close to the nature, rather in the lap of nature. The staff was literally running for me. They were on their toes to provide me all the comfort possible which makes your stay better. The surrounding gives you real feel of Kerala as it is greenery all around and the fruit tress around are really awesome. I would recommend this hotel to the one who likes to stay away from the city's noise and into a natural, green and calm surrounding with tasty food and supportive staff around you. This was really an unforgettable experience. I would like to visit this once again, if I plan for Wayanad again. I would advise to keep at least one complete day for staying and enjoying the surrounding after completing your excursion. It would be relaxing and healthy experience. This is kind of at city outskirts so you may require to ask for the transport from the hotel which was readily available. I have no cons to mention for this hotel considering that, this kind of close to nature stay can be planned in this kind of location only. Pros are the nature around, responsive staff, nice food, calmness etc. What else we need?

we stayed in cottage which they call deluxe room with balcony. The rooms were very small and in bad condition. i did not feel like staying in a resort and you dont get any welcome drink. complementary water bottle and tea coffee were also not provided which are very basic things you get in all types of hotels and resorts. i was surprised to see there were no covers for blankets. common now indian railways also provide covers for blankets. but cons were compensated by the service. very good people excellent behavior. overall it was good stay because of resort staffs.

It was an awesome stay. The service was greatt, the staff really cared about our stay there!! The location is really beautiful, and just like their words, it's like living with the nature. For the leisurely times, there's badminton court, hammocks, swings, benches by the park area. The whole resort was neatly maintained. The ambience was great. Normally I wouldn't write a review this long, but this place made me so! Thank you Hiliya Resort! I'll be definitely riding back there I a short while. :)

I'd booked a dorm bed for the 12th of Jan. But all the other beds were booked by another group, and I got a free upgrade to a single bed. The room was pretty comfortable. The place is located in a forest, and and the area around it is pretty scenic. The food tasted pretty good too, although a little expensive, and there are not many options to eat out. Although most of the places are at a bit far off, the resort itself is worth spending a day with a group!

Resort location is very good and is well maintained with lush green surroundings, play area, bon fire area and full amenities like dining area, reception area and car parking. It is built in ample space. Staff is very polite and helping and also the owner of the resort. They arranged whatever we required. Rooms are small but clean and the view from the room is enchanting. It is sufficient for a couple.

Please check rooms for bugs, insects etc before you check in a guest. Since, there are a variety of trees nearby, the rooms have lot of ants and spiders. Didn't want to make a fuss about it as we understand that you seemed understaffed and we were dead tired. However, the tranquility is all we wanted and we were happy we got some. Very friendly staff. Good food. Huge property with lot of greenry gives a very pleasant feeling. Rooms were very neat qnd the room we stayed was 10*10ft probably so if u prefer a big one, please confirm it before booking. The approach road ( around 300metres) to the property is in very horrible condition. Overall it is a nice experience.

Resort is good as the environment around is like a forest and lots of activities are available like badminton,swings and carom.Alltogether we had a nice stay but only thing which we din't like was their dinner.Though breakfast was gud but dinner was not as expected and they should also should have cleaning facilities everyday in rooms.

Location is very near to sultan bathery. Resort is also an organic farm full of fruit trees. Staffs are very helpful. They arrange for everything as far as it is possible for them. Food is too good, great cook. Its a value for money hotel with all the facilities. It is great place if you are visiting in groups.

We had stayed in this resort for 2 days,The resort is surrounded by lush green tree, coffee plantations and other plants. They provide you a wonderful room and tasty food. The overall stay was very pleasant and really worth the money.

One of the cleannest rooms I have stayed in any Hill Stations. The staff & the owner are very friendly. We were lucky to spot Deers & Elephants on a night trek. Highly recommend.
