This guest house is one of a kind. We had booked 2 rooms for 4 nights during Pujo as we wanted to feel the Pujo vibes and must say, we were not disappointed. There are 2 big budget pandals on either side and the location is such that one can easily cover 3-4 pandals nearby. The guesthouse in itself has an old charm and owner has kept it that way to transport people back to their good old days. The owner is a person of remarkable personality and we enjoyed the stories about his childhood,job life, some eminent personalities he has met and there are paper cutouts of certain celebrities who have been to this guest house that blew our mind. Only thing i felt lacking was that one cannot lock his room while leaving the room. If at all, one wants to, they need to pay a security money of 1000,which is fully refundable during checkout. Might be owner has kept this rule due to guests' not switching off AC, fan during leaving the room. The room was cleaned daily while we were away. I had a good time here with my family and would love to visit again.

Very satisfied with all services. Awesome location in the heart of Gariahat. Very tidy & well maintained. It isn't a typical "hotel" types. One will feel homely after staying here within 1-2 days. All amenities are well functioned. Mr. Banerjee (the Owner) is very pleasant to have a conversation with. Lots of antic stuff can be discovered at his home. I have very liked it & will definitely recommend my friends / acquaintances to always opt this place for easy & comfortable stay. Outside locality is very peaceful & posh & SAFE. Would definitely wish I get another chance to stay here in my next Kolkata visit. Thank You.

The place is located in good part of Kolkata, with shops, restaurants and street food places within walking distance. For nearest metro station Kali Ghat you can take a shared auto for Rs. 7 as it is not so close. Overall the place is not so bad, but strictly don't book the basic room as it it well below the basic. It is like a storage room and not a room fit for staying there. The more expensive rooms are OK. The good part is that they provide drinking filtered water.

The guesthouse is situated in a very good location, in Ballygunge, in a quiet and friendly area. It is a small family run guesthouse, and the guesthouse owner, who lives in the building together with his family, is very friendly and helpful. I have been staying at Saroj Deep several times through the years, and I have always enjoyed my stays. The guesthouse is very safe, strict rules make sure that there will be no disturbing elements or trouble during the stay.

We were asked to pay a refundable deposit of ₹1000/- just to get a key for our room. And when asked why such weird rules, the hotelier just started yelling, saying "This is the rules here. It is my hotel, I'll run it my way!" This booking was for my own wedding. Hence I did not have the mind space to solve this issue with the *** Hotelier! As a result my friends had to put up with such a horrible service and periodic room for the two nights!

original price was ....and after discount I got it the room at .... they gave me a flity room,smelling room, dirty bed cover, broken flash,as I campined hotelier told me that I only deserve that room on this price. ... guest house owner is so unprofessional. I don't know why they running the business. that guest house even don't have a helper. I even more surprised on very that day....

very disappointing, room is smelly, TV, bathroom flash not working faced many issues. agreed to shift the room to higher priced one after a written document.but since I given 1 rating they refused to change room. I called helpline no and them I am lying about the flash. so here I have upload the pics. it's broken.

stayed here for second time. Location is good near gariahat market. bus stand is also near. birla technology museum and temple both walking distance..rooms are big spacious with windows i request guest house team to give good/ soft towels to guest. immediately need to replace old junk towels..

Location is excellent. Very near to gauriahat crossing and market. Owner is a my dear gentlemen. It's a homestay not a hotel. Although there is time of 10pm to return back to the property but if you request the owner politely he complies to your request. Great value for money.

The hotel was the house of Mr.**** (possibly from the 1970s). He still lives there and requests for ₹1000 deposit to get a key for the room, for which we have already paid! I request anyone booking here to be wary that the cheap price comes with a big deal breaker.

The guest house is very conveniently located. Eateries are nearby. Guest house management is also very good. We stayed in a non-a/c room. It will be better if shower in the bath is attended to.

Hotel is located at nice place. The room is good, clean and hygienic. Food joints are nearby and hotel is near to Gariahat market. The only disadvantage is no service in the hotel

tough the hotel is ideally located and the host is a perfect gentleman but room I was given was remarkably horrible and there was no room service as I was denied for a cup of Tea.
