The Gemini Group Of Houseboats Dal Lake

Houseboat common area was neat and nice. Location right opposite Ghat No 3 is very convenient especially as there is a paid parking opposite as well. Shikara rides on the Dal were totally worth it. Couldn't get enough of it!But that us where the good things end.1. You don't have the entire houseboat to yourself. There are 4 rooms and you are booking one of them.2. Service is non existent! We had booked for 3 days and no one came to clean the room even once. You had to ask them even for towels which were old and worn out!3. Food was BAD!! I had booked for meals included package and totally repented! Everyday they would ask us what we would have as I they were going to cook whatever we wanted only to be told how our choice was not possible and coaxed us for one of 2-3 things they had in mind.....and even that was really bad! Even the oil they used was old and smelly! We are vegetarians though so not sure of how people found the non veg stuff...4. Our room shared the wall panel with the pantry where they would wash dishes late at night.....couldn't get sleep thanks to vessels banging next to our head on the other side of a thin wooden panel!5. The two employees on the boat would often keep fighting and arguing amongst themselves 6. The employees had this funny habbit of being too chatty....at first one might take it as being warm and friendly but it very soon gets really irritating.....every meal cannot become a chit chat session.....and it becomes very difficult and embarrassing when they expect us to appreciate the really BAD food every meal time!!7. I had booked each day including meals. But considering I had a single room without any service or cleanliness, poor food ! On the whole a well located property, with very very poor untrained staff and attitude....not to mention over priced!The booking really spoiled our vacation to Srinagar. I would definitely not recommend for any tourists.

i was very satisfy with my stay in this hotel, services were always on time and accurate as well. At the time of check in and check out, no problem faced, it was all smooth. All the facilities provided by them were good enough. Room was comfortable and of good size and one more thing the room has a good view of Dal lake as this hopuseboat is floating on the Dal Lake. And our houseboat is in Ghat no. 3 which was the favorable point of the lake.

pros: - Entrance Ambience is impressive - Service is good - Cost Effective - Near to city , start of Boulevard road Cons: - Bathrooms are not maintained properly - Wifi wont be available in rooms - front area of houseboat in Dal Lake is small. you may not feel much that you are in Dal Lake.

I stayed with family here. kind of okay place. Staff is good here. they can guide in case anything is needed. Food options are less on boat. Any house Boat in daal lake is okay to stay for one night just for an experience as water here is not moving , in the night it smells bad.
