I went to vedam to spend the Christmas weekend with my 5 yo daughter and my husband. we had booked in November and the entire payment was also made well in advance. however after we reached the property after a two hour drive from Kolkata, we were told by the receptionist that they did not have any room available at the time as the entire property had been booked for a wedding. instead they offered to put us up at another property of theirs, aqua marina, to which we didn't agree. we insisted on staying at vedam only. then the booking manager came and tried to reason with us that they had disabled all booking a couple of months ago and they had no information that this booking had been taken. we said that it was a problem on their part and since we have booked and also paid, we are not going to return and they would have to accommodate us anyhow. after keeping us waiting for more than an hour, which was way beyond the check in time, that finally gave us a room. I don't know who is to be held responsible for this hassle that we faced, vedam, but this was indeed a truly bitter start. not to forget that my 5 year old was kept waiting without having her lunch. however the property was very nice, with lots of open space, play areas for children as well as grown ups and a nice and clean swimming pool. food was not up to the mark though.hotel authorities should be careful enough that visitors do not have to face such hassles in future.

Think before you visit. The following drawbacks I would like to list out from my recent visit1. They changed the check in time to 1 pm instead of 12 pm , which was not notified the resort and hence when I reached there around 11:30 am , they made me wait till 1 pm for the room ( Note: They also don't provide any welcome drink )2. The restaurant is in a open space area which just had a shed (no proper boundaries). It was humid and the fans didn't work properly. The tables and chairs in the food area was a mess, they were very dirty. Moreover they spread bleaching powder all over the area and the odor of the same was pathetic as we were having food3. The service of the staff is well below average. You will not get food served within nominal time. Well I ordered snacks ( only one item) at 6 p.m in the evening and we were told that the food will be served within half n hour, however it was served at 7:30 pm4. The food quality is also not good and it is overpriced. In lunch you are forced to have only thalis which they kept at higher price and you are not allowed to order any individual item from the menu5. Only 20 percent of the items that you see in menu are available and it is quiet obvious that the one that is priced higher is available.Think before you book. There are many options that you can get at the same price.

The room was good but also overpriced... according to the location it was excessively costly. 1. In the beginning stuff behaviour was too good and at the time of checkout it was a bit rough. 2. And never give them your bike or car to park, they scratched my new bike and used it, noticed from the trip meter. Overall experience was not good, not going for 2nd time. There are plenty more better resorts I've visited in Kolkata. Not bad but the bedsheet was damaged from the first time, we didn't notice and at the time of checkout they charged 1000/- rs where the stuff went to check our room and in some seconds the receptionist told that we damaged the bedsheet...it was fishy...as if everything was scripted from the beginning.

First of all they don't provide free water services, you have to buy mineral water every time you want to drink water also they don't have any water jug inside of the roomSecondly the landphone was dead in our room even after we complained it was not sorted. Thirdly no one from the housekeeping department came to clean the room/bathroom even after we asked them to clean it.Next they said in the amenities that they provide free slippers but they did not provide it. Also the gym is just for name sake as it was not open the whole day.

The property was new but the total area of the resort is very small, in 10mins you can stroll across the property. The staff were limited in number, thus time taken to service was time taking. During dinner, we asked for salt, I have requested it from the room service gentleman who came to serve our food. Then even called the room service/ restaurant for salt, but unfortunately no one came to provide us the same. The management start knocking us, 1hr before the mandate checkout time. Service and Early check-out.

room was studded with cockroaches, lizard, pest & drivers room was studded with bed bugs. Room was dirty, unclean. Food is overpriced & poorly maintained property.Dining table was extremely dirty. Mark of left over food on table cloth was prominent. Plastic cover sheet over dining table was dirty. Log Hut has no privacy, as all voices can be heard from neighbouring log Hut.

Very good ambience, I stayed in cabana room with complemenntary breakfast. Room was quite spacious. Also overall the inside of the property was nicely set up. Food taste could have been better considering it is a 4star resort. Staff behaviour was good. Overall worth the money I spent. Very much suitable for weekend trips.

Nice Resort with great ambience..Food was awesome.And the breakfast buffet is simply awesome with so much variety.Loved it.. There were many negative reviews on the Management but I will suggest whoever is planning to Visit Vedam Eco Tourism to ignore those as I find all the staffs are very courteous..

Complimentary breakfast variety is to be increased. Idly quality has to be improved. Quality improvement is required for south indian food. Hospitality is excellent. It is located far from highway and private transport is not easily available. It is advisable to take your own vehicle.

Fabulous staying beside poolside rooms.specially enjoyed the summer time and the hospitality was too good, family and couples can enjoying the aroma of nature and well organised. As per my suggestion I spend your weekend in a joyful environment .

It was overall a nice experience with great ambience but few issues 1.No security...scary nights...people banging doors...anybody can barge in. 2.extra spicy food. 3.way too cold room in winters with no room heaters. 4.Insects in room.

I have an bookings vedam pallete ecotourism on 30th Nov but when I am reached at hotel they told me whole property is overbooked they didn't accept my booking so I want my money refund what about my quary

Hotels rooms ar fantastic service is very slow and food quality and quantity is very poor. Earlier senario was not like that. Specially food quality and quantity is very less and poor as per price level.

very good for friends and family. very easy to navigate but food and water is too expensive. water is 100 rs. that is too much. mud houses have some insects. overall had a mixed experience

Pros:Good resort, great ambience, average food. Clean and we'll maintained property. Cons: Room service facilities not available from 10pm to 8am. This should be improved.
