Location: I had booked this desert stay going by the review in TA. The driver of our taxi commented that the location is quite far from the main sam desert which has the best dunes. So I was apprehensive at first. But all my doubts were laid to rest the moment we arrived at the gates of this property. Due to our days engagements, we reached the property at 5 30 pm. We were told that the camel safari had started at 5 15 and we were too late for it. But the staff expediated the check in process and we were provided with an Omni van which took us to the Sam sand dunes (about 6 km away) There a camel was waiting for us. and within few minutes we were on our way. the camel safari is managed by locals but Winds ensured that they pick the best camel guide. Although we missed the sun set from the view point we got a great view of the sun set over the sand dunes atop the camel. We met Vinay at the sand dunes who requested the camel guide to take us few extra yards, which was complied. Vinay was with us till we finished the safari. other guest had already finished and made their way back to the resort and the vehicle returned only to pick us up. On they way back Vinay said that there are pretty decent dunes behind the resort and he offered to take us on a morning stroll which we happily accepted. the morning stroll was even lovelier. we had a great sunrise view and clicked lot of pictures. (They also offer evening walks into the dunes for stargazing. we were too exhausted to walk that evening) Rooms and ambience: The rooms are tented accommodation that are supposed to give you a feeling of camping. But these tents were much more than that. Very cosy, luxurious and clean room welcomed us. Thanks to the management, we were given an upgrade to AC tent. Clean linen and towels were present as expected. The bath room also hosts a small gyser that we could switch on anytime. We were amazed to find such luxurious in the middle of the desert. Food and service: Amazing. Vikram and Ajit ensured all our needs were met. Be it evening tea and morning coffee delivered to our tents, or offering us the culinary delights of the desert, no stone was left unturned. We had asked for vegetarian food. both dinner and breakfast were served at the table with portion sizes enough for 2 people. All dishes tasted good. Papad ki sabzi, bajre ki roti deserves a special mention. Folk music and dance. As we returned from the camel safari, we were welcomed with the very traditional and very "Rajasthani" song, "Phadaro mare des" We knew from that moment we were in for a treat later in the evening. the group consisted of 7 members playing the melodious instruments and my favorite the Karthal. The voice of the lead singer was out of this world. The troupe enthralled us with their music and dance. we were overwhelmed at the end. Full points to this troupe and to winds resort for hiring them. ( Later we came to know that most of the resorts only have a dance with DJ. We would have been thoroughly disappointed if that was the case here. please research your property before booking the desert stay) All in all, we had the time of our lives at Winds desert camp. We would recommend this place for everyone who wishes to immerse themselves in the desert culture for a day.
I must confess that I was bit concern about my booking of a desert camp for my family specially for my infant daughter. Whether these are safe? families will be comfortable? whether it will be neat & clean or hygienic or what will be the ambience? All these concerns are anxieties are vanished just like magic once I reach over there. Let me break down my stay over there. 1. Welcoming ceremony gives me the pleasure of real hospitality. 2. 26 tents are well placed with decoration around and so many plants & tress are placed across to make it beautiful. 3. Tents are Spacious, Comfortable, Neat & Clean and well decorated. 4. A round shape place with small tea tables are designed to serve tea/coffee. 5. A square shape place at the back of dining area is designed for evening cultural program, where you can enjoy Rajasthan folk song and dance with evening snacks. 6. Foods are good, not all items are at their best, but you will have different options available, so I feel it tasty whatever I had. 7. Most important part of my stay, staffs are excellent. Smile in their face through out the day and always eager to help. Whatever I say, they were ready to serve. If you are traveling to Jaisalmer with your family, I must suggest to stay in Winds Desert Camp. My family enjoyed a lot and thanks to entire team of Winds Desert Camp.
Wow! This place was nothing less than awesome...although our stay was very short , only one night we had such a wonderful time . There were activities included in the tariffs like camel safari and Rajasthan’s folk dance & music which was lovely . Food was another level great . We were a group of 6 people and a child , the manager made sure that we get tents with all the facilities so as to make our stay comfortable with the child. Listen to the manager ‘Mayank’ he would suggest you the best places to visit in and around the city. Night jeep safari was the highlight of our trip which was again arranged by the manager ( not included in the stay package) . This safari is highly recommended. If i ever go back to Jaisalmer this will be the main reason to visit... thank you wind desert camp for having us and treating us so gracefully . I would also like to mention the cleanliness inside the camp which was at par.... 👏🏻👏🏻
Excellent Place to stay. I am from a hospitality industry and I was myself amazed to see the kind of hospitality they are offering in the camps. They can easily fail the 5* hotels' services. 100% genuine as they show the pictures on the website. Amazing people, amazing food. I would like to thanks specially Mr. Surendra who went a step ahead and made an effort to serve us the world famous LAL MAAS (which we forgot to order beforehand). I totally loved it. Rooms+bathroom+balcony+beds+linens were extremely clean, sanitized well and hygienic. We all 5 friends are in love with Winds Desert Camp !! Keep up the good work peeps :)
This Camp is around 6 km from Sand Dunes which is highlighted by many but the same is compensated by Luxury Rooms with Nice Decor, Good Cultural Programme, Coordinated Camel Ride and last but not least the hospitality of Gaurav and Himmat Singh. They provide individual attention to the guests with warmth and smiling face. The Food tastes good but Non-Veg options are limited and can be improved. At the end it makes more sense staying here for a complete package rather than many mushrooming camps with unknown service record.
What a wonderful place and people to spend a weekend with. The team at Winds headed by Anshuman exceeded our expectations and made a memorable stay. The tents were comfortable, the food amazing and the evening entertainment was nice. Given the hospitality industry is struggling with the post-Covid challenges, one should be more patient with such stand-alone hotels/camps who make up for the small short-comings with great service. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.
Excellent experience. Very comfortable stay with all amenities. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Overall enjoyable trip. May be one of the best place to stay in sum. Suggestions for value additions: 1. Pole lights within the complex and small desert garden in the middle of the ground. 2 .Approach road may be lit with small lights and flags for guidance in the night. Manager, Mr Mayank and restaurant incharge deserve lot of appreciation. Dr A.k. Gupta
It was an awesome experience staying at "winds desert". Staffs were very attentive and responsive. With a pleasant smile they were ready to solve all the concerns. Even a person from the camp came to the dunes for Co ordinating camel and jeep safari for the guests. Cultural programme was superb and the snacks served during the programme was also good. Once you reach winds desert...just relax and enjoy each and every moment as they take care of everything.
This is true desert camp. Ac tent is very good. Tent is neat and clean. Tent is maintained like hotel room. Bathroom have tiles flooring. Service is excellent. People of this camp are always ready to give there best. Evening rajasthani program is also very good. Food is very tasty. Overall excellent experience.
Tents are very beautiful n spacious with almost all required facilities. The most important is the staff there...the hospitality is fabulous. they are always ready to help you in every possible way. Food is also very good.
Amazing hotel. Friendly staff. Good Food. Hotel has private dunes which is the highlight of this place. One will have very chill and peaceful here. I Had mesmerising star gazing experience and astonishing sunrise.
The camp is located as a very neat and clean location far away from the crowded area. You can enjoy a relaxing time over here. They also provide complimentary camel ride and welcome tilak and folk dance.
Everything about the camp is perfect from the amenities to the food and cultural programs. Hospitality is just a level up and perfect. Would definitely recommend.
