I recently stayed at Zostel Mcleodganj, and I can't praise it enough! This hostel deserves a solid 5-star rating for several reasons. First and foremost, the rooms were exceptional. Clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, they exceeded my expectations for a hostel. The best part, though, was waking up to the breathtaking view of the mountains every morning. It's truly a picture-perfect setting that made my stay unforgettable.

The ambience was good, though the game section was quite small but the cafe and food was nice. The only cons was that they don't have a licence to consume alcohol in the open terrace area. so if someone is bringing their alcohol they will have to consume in their room only or at Dom's bed if other people in the same room are comfortable since these are shared rooms.

No value for money. We were charged for 2 days. The view was good, but the room was visible from their cafe. Also, no walkability whatsoever. You have to climb up or down around "96 stairs" - 100 meters of steep hill to reach this place. Obviously there is no parking, but you can't even keep your vehicle on the road uphill. The nearest parking is 300 meters away.

Hostel is at a great location with good views of the valley. Rooms are spacious and cafe serves nice food. Wifi speed was around 200 MBPS. Are are few problems as well. Sheets were not that much clean and service is a bit slow. They do not have heater or heated blanket, it is expected if you are charging 4000 rupees a night

The location is a bit off! You have to climb down around 100 stairs to go down!? I was traveling with my mom! Despite asking them for prior check-in for my mom! They were not responsive. Check-out time is 10! & They took 1.5hr to get the room ready!

Great place to stay, clean dorms and bathrooms. beautiful cafe with healthy food options. it is situated at a really scenic place and you get a great view from the window of the dorm too! friendly and cooperative staff.

hostel has difficult location to reach and that's the biggest problem. once you are in after 100 stairs climb down, you can't go anywhere. you don't have any space to park 2 wheelers, food is great and dorm is clean

Worst policy to loot money. I have applied cancellation 3 days prior to check in but still they have forfeited 100% money for 2 nights. Such a rigid policy even if people have genuine cancellations reasons.

Great hostel and lovely staff. The food was very good as well. One of the best mountain views I’ve ever scene with a hostel. Service - prompt and proper. The dorms were hygienic and well maintained

improve your wifi reach and speed rest everything was on point, the sitting area on top was comfy and the all type of card game board game . we love it... the food in the cafe was very good .

This hostel has almost 150+ stairs to go down which was not mentioned. i have not stayed at zostel.. we went and left .. its difficult for an asthma patient to climb that much of stairs

i booked a dorm bed in a female dormitory. The rooms were cleaned, and the view from the top roof cafe was good. the only drawback i found was to climb 100 stairs to reach the property.

Great experience! Must visit when in Mcleodganj. The only discomfort was the walk towards the hostel. Climbing up 96 steps everytime you step out of the hostel

parking is 2km away which was nowhere mentioned while booking the staff was v v rude when asked anything about parking or help with luggage done
