What is Seat Lock?
It’s a partial payment feature for train tickets that helps you with:
Securing your train ticket by paying just 25% of the total amount.
Locking your ticket fare & avoiding surge prices during high demand periods.
How to use this feature?

Seat Lock:
- By opting the part payment option, you will be given an option to make part payment of 25%. The 25% of the part payment would comprise of the ticket price and the non-refundable components such as IRCTC convenience fee, Goibibo service fee (if any). The consideration for additional products (if any chosen by you) such as insurances, free cancellation, goConfirmed, etc. shall be non-refundable.
- You are required to make the payment of the balance amount of 75% of ticket price along with applicable taxes and duties, 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. In the event that you fail to make balance payment, the booking shall be cancelled and balance amount in accordance with the applicable cancellation and refund policy of IRCTC shall be refunded to you.
- If you wish to cancel the booking prior to the date of making the balance payment, standard cancellation and refund policy of IRCTC will be applicable. The amount payable towards the non-refundable components (as provided above) shall be forfeited.
- Goibibo reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and liability and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/withdraw or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, withdraw or extend, wholly or in part, this part payment option provided to you.
